The American Association of orthodontics recommends that all children receive an orthodontic evaluation at age 7. At this age, Dr. Hennes can evaluate the growth pattern of the dentofacial complex and the erupting teeth. If needed, he can then create a phase I treatment plan to develop the jaws allowing space for the erupting teeth. He also evaluates how the upper and lower jaws relate to each other. Any needed corrections at this early age are done using the patient’s facial growth and dentofacial orthopedics in possible combination with limited orthodontics.
